Taverners
continued their 100% record in 2010 with a convincing 4-1 victory over Charfield
Reserves. Taverners welcomed Andrew Griffiths and Darren Peachey back to the
starting line up along with Nick Dodd returning to the starting 11 from a broken
leg. The changes were successful right from the whistle with 2 fine first half
goals from veteran Darren Peachey. Taverners looked to attack straight from
start of the second half and duly got their wish of a goal when Olie Portlock
broke clear and coolly slipped the ball passed the on rushing keeper to make it
2 in 2 for the youngster. Taverners made sure of the 3 points when Rob Blunt
came off the bench to tap home with his first touch. A lack of concentration led
to a Charfield consolation from a corner.
