On a blustery afternoon Taverners travelled to Kingshill looking to bounce back from a heavy home defeat to Chalford. Taverners started strong and were soon on top with the wind and slope to their advantage, producing some good build up without creating any clear cut opportunities. The breakthrough came from a Josh Blunt corner, whipped into a dangerous area and deflected into the net from an unfortunate Kingshill defender. Kingshill looked to strike back early with the front pairing looking lively but finding no change from a well disciplined defensive trio of Paul Jennings, Luke Ostle and Nick Trinder. The second goal came shortly before the break when some slick passing play gave Josh Blunt the chance to fire from all of 25 yards and find the bottom corner beautifully. After the break Taverners had to contend with a Kingshill onslaught and lead to some serious backs against the wall defending. Getting over the worst Taverners managed to play themselves back into the game and carved out a trio of clean cut opportunities for Luke Stewart, only for him to find an equal in the goalkeeper. Taverners ended the tie with the last kick of the game when Tom Green smashed home from an acute angle to wrap things up.
