Tavs winless streak continued with another narrow defeat at home to Thornbury. The first half was a very even event with both defences on top. The Thorns had one chance when Steve Thompson was played in on goal but a great tackle from Craig Mills retrieved the situation for the home side. A good counter attack from Tavs ended with Jay Redbond shooting from the edge off the box but keeper Robert Malcom was equal to the effort.

The second half began to open up with Tavs for the second week running slow to get started. Thornbury took advantage off this and began to keep the ball well and ten minutes into the half won a penalty when Rich Kerry clipped Thompson in the box. Chris Parcy stepped up but Duane Portlock guessed correctly and saved superbly low down to his right. The save failed to get Tavs going and six minutes later the visitors were in front when Tavs failed to cut out a good cross which Dan Thompson steered in at the back post. The goal served to arouse Tavs and they went on to dominate the final twenty minutes off the game and were unfortunate not to draw level. With ten minutes remaining Mark Harsant found a good position in the box and blasted a shot against the foot off the post. The ball came back to Tom Hanley who failed to take advantage with Malcom making the save. With ninety minutes approaching a ball into the box found Kerry but his header again stuck the woodwork to leave another frustrating afternoon for the Tavs. The club would like to thank match ball sponsor Mick O’Hara.
