An early season top of the
table clash ended in stalemate at the King George V playing field. Both sides
had chances to go in front with Taverners staying in the game thanks to a string
of saves at close range from Man of the Match Andy Strotforth. After long
periods of play in the first half with no chances falling to either side Matt
Spring crossed beautifully from the right only to see Darren Peachey's close
range effort blocked by the keeper. The second half proved a little more
difficult for the home side as Whitminster created extended periods of pressure
looking to break the deadlock. With Taverners defence staying solid, no goals
could be found by either side to steal all 3 points.
