Tavs enjoyed a good game against a young mobile Yate side. The visitors were the brighter of the two sides in the opening fifteen minutes and went in front when Justin Cattle was allowed in run in behind the Tavs rearguard and score in his customary fashion. Tavs began to cause Yate problems and in particular the positive running of Tom Hanley, and when the visitors keeper lost the ball on the edge off the box Rich Kerry was there to prod the ball home. The home side finished the half the stronger of the two sides but could not make a further breakthrough.

Ten minutes into the second period the visitors again went in front in rather fortunate circumstances. The rapid Omari Sims was released down Tavs right flank and his miss-hit intended cross went straight in at Duane Portlock's near post. Tavs almost responded immediately but Mark Harsant's drive was gathered at the near post. The visitors were reduced to ten men on seventy minutes for a late challenge on Craig Roberts, which served to intensify Tavs search for an equaliser. Sub Tom Stubbs fired just over and then the keeper saved superbly from Kerry's close range effort. A deserved equaliser soon followed with Harsant despatching clinically at the far post from Hanley's corner. Yate counter-attacked superbly and Tavs were relieved when a deflected effort landed on top of the crossbar. As the game reached 90 minutes, Yate were shown a second red with their manager also sent from the dugout for his protestations. The last incident of the game saw the Yate custodian make another good save from Jay Redbond's good strike from the edge off the box.

This Saturday Tavs travel to Kingswood, KO 2pm
