BENNETT BAMBOOZLES LONGFORD AS TAVS WIN OPENING GAME

After a turbulent off season and withdrawal from the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League, Taverner's hit the reset button and looked to the youth to revive the club back to it's former glory days.

Newley appointed Mark Harsant who is now overseeing his third term as Taverners Manager welcomed Longford to the Owen Harris Memorial Ground on the opening game of the season.

From the kickoff Taverner's dominated possession and it wasn't long before before Kyle Adams registered his first goal of the campaign. from a Dean Neale assist.

10 minutes later Harry Bennett's perfectly delivered free kick just inside Longford's half, saw Mike Thornton's towering header hit the back of the net.

After Halftime Longford re grouped and came out fighting scoring from a headed cross

Harry Bennett's precision pass cut through Longford's defence to find Kyle Adams who slotted the ball cooley passed the keeper

15 minutes of madness at the end of the game saw Longford score a further 2 goals before some intricate combination play between Jonty O'Leary and Freddie Searle found Freddie free in the box to finish the game off.
