Tavs travelled to Stroud League 1's Tetbury Town on bank holiday Monday. There were a few familiar faces in the opposing team as Ex Tavs Captains Luke "Bash" Bedwell and Josh "Blunty" Blunt both donned the Orange and Black against us.
Tavs start the New year coming off back to back defeats in the league started the game cautiously, It took 35 minutes for Tavs to break down their opponent when some quick thinking by Jamie Bish released Dean Neale to cut in from the left and shoot from just outside the box beating the keeper at the near post. Tavs Jubilations were short lived as Tetbury found themselves with a equalizer.
Halftime 1-1
Tavs started the second half brightly despite the now heavy pitch and lacking the fitness levels prior to the festive break. Some creativity from Dean Neale found Jamie Marriott in enough space to finish into the net.
Again Tavs lead was short lived as Josh Blunt managed to score a volley from a Tetbury corner against his former team.
With both teams poised to find a winning goal and the scores all level on the 80th minute Tavs up and coming prodigy Harley Hudd was through on goal only to be hacked down by the Tetbury defender who was lick to escape with just a yellow card. Up stepped Louis Wilkins and Russell Chamberlain after a brief discussion the home fans fell silent as Wilkins wand struck the ball into the top right hand corner of the goal from 30 yards out.
Tavs capitalized again in added time as a well timed pass from Dean Neale split through the defenders to find Harley Hudd free in the just inside the penalty box to slot Tavs 4th of the afternoon in to the goal.
